Pixie Hollow was a mainstay of my childhood. I remember at one point I printed out screenshots of certain locations and houses and pinned them up on the walls of my room, so obsessed was I with the world and aesthetic. I would make fairies of both genders (though you could only make girl fairies for the longest time lol) and "date" different people in a rare instance of that sort of behavior not really leading to anything harmful lol. I'm pretty sure we were all just kids fucking around. Nothing ever got explicit or anything like that.

The care that went into creating this world is obvious; I can tell the developers drew a lot of inspiration from the Tales of Pixie Hollow series with illustrations by Judith H. Clarke, because a lot of the artwork matches that style. And it's great!! There's a painterly quality that the 3D-animated movies just couldn't capture, but the backgrounds of the places in Pixie Hollow Online managed it beautifully.

I miss Pixie Hollow sooo much, but there are two fan-led revival projects that each have portions of the gameplay/world available! I've only ever had luck with wethepixies, so if anyone manages to figure out fairyabc, please let me know.
